Spread the word!

This weekend I learned that an 8 year old Fruita boy is still in critical condition in a Denver hospital. My friend related to me that the boy's father feels so badly that he didn't know about Family Health West having a new hospital and emergency room. On the day his son was having a severe asthma attack, he was rushing to St. Mary's ER and his son stopped breathing while in route. He was air lifted to Denver and has since been on a ventilator, and experienced pneumonia, collapsed lung, etc. Little Andre and his family are in my prayers daily. Please tell your family, neighbors, and friends that there are health care services in Fruita. A physician is on-site from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and then on-call. If Andre's parents would have been aware of the services available in Fruita, they possibly wouldn't have the worry they do about the lack of oxygen Andre suffered when he stopped breathing. Please add Andre to your prayer list. He needs a miracle. THANKS!

Little Andre

What a sad story. This proves the point that the number one message to send out (as far as I can see it) is that there is a real functioning hospital here in Fruita. I think it will be a challenge to change or expand people's perception of Family Health West (the name) which has for so long been branded with extended and Alzheimer's care. I think with Andre's family's permission, this story should be shared. I will pray for him. Any updates on his status?

Little Andre

Just yesterday I visited a blog that was set up for Andre. He's doing so much better. Family is thrilled to see his progress after so much heartwrenching worry. There was a car show fund-raiser in Grand Junction Sunday to help out with expenses. I didn't attend but I heard it went well. What a long journey for such a loving family!
