Free Talk on Fibromyalgia

Fruita, CO (July 27, 2011) – Family Health West is proud to present a talk on Fibromyalgia, Wednesday, August 10th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Fruita Community Center.
“Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues,” said featured presenter, Dr. Lynda Hamner, “Women are more likely to develop Fibromyalgia than men and those who are afflicted may also suffer from tension headaches, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and depression.”
Symptoms of Fibromyalgia often begin after a physical trauma, infection or significant psychological stress.
Dr. Hamner, a specialist in musculoskeletal, orthopedic, integrative medicines and general physiatry will provide information on the suggested causes, symptoms and treatment options, “There is no cure for fibromyalgia, but there are a variety of methods and approaches that provide relief,” said Dr. Hamner.
