This therapeutic tool uses instrumentation to provide individuals direct, live time, immediate feedback about changes in their physiology (bodily functions). Patients are taught to improve their health and manage pain by using signals from their bodies.
Connected to electrical sensors, the patient learns how to make subtle changes such as breathing or relaxing muscles to achieve a desire goal or to reduce pain. The data gathered by a computer monitor is interpreted by the therapist who uses the information to feed back to the patient so that they can learn and retrain any abnormal or inefficient response leading to healing and overall wellbeing.
