The Red Baron Ball Renovates The Oaks

Fruita, CO (March 21, 2012) – The Oaks, assisted living at Family Health West in Fruita, is getting a makeover. Family Health West is pleased to announce that The Oaks will be the recipient of the upcoming 23rd annual Red Baron Ball, April 21st, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Grand Junction. The proceeds of the Red Baron Ball will help renovate The Oaks to enhance the lives of the residents, and the staff who work there.
According to Michele Snider, director, the primary needs are for safety and updating the structure. The roof is in need of repair, the parking lot needs to be restriped and the carpet needs to be replaced. But Michele has a larger vision that she’s been developing for some time now, “It is my dream to open up the north courtyard. It currently serves no purpose and could possibly be developed into a nice deck where we could have a fountain, some potted plants/gardens, and covered patio furniture for residents who want to dine outside. Picnic tables and benches around the facility would be wonderful especially since we have such beautiful grounds. Our front patio is a favorite place to sit but the furniture needs to be replaced.”
Mark Francis, Vice President of Outpatient Services looks forward to creating an updated look for The Oaks, “The care is exceptional. Everyone who has experienced The Oaks comments on how wonderful the staff is, the food, the sense of belonging, etc. It’s time to update its look.”
Lighting, paint, and a community garden are additional hopes for The Oaks. “Fruita is such a great place to live. The Oaks is close to the hospital, the recreation center, downtown shopping, and restaurants,” added Michele, “With some upgrades, we envision The Oaks to be the ideal place for those who need a little extra care and attention.”
